The CP-Symbols Electrical series is a set of symbol and object libraries for GstarCAD users that support the design of electrical installations. CP-Symbols Electrical consists of 5 libraries: IEC and NFPA, Projections, Schemes, Lighting, Diagrams and block diagrams. Each of these libraries can be purchased separately, as a series or in the CP-Symbols Suite.

The IEC and NFPA Library

Contains symbols compliant with EN 60617 and NFPA 79 standards.

The CP-Symbols Electrical – IEC, NFPA library includes the following categories:

  • IEC (vertical symbols – switching, control and protection devices, measuring instruments, electrical energy generation and conversion;
    active components – diodes, transistors, thyristors, various;
    passive components – resistors, capacitors, inductors, delay lines, piezoelectric elements)
  • NFPA (vertical symbols – 1L, 2L, 3L, terminals, various;
    horizontal symbols – 1L, 2L, 3L, terminals, identifiers, various)

The Floor Plan Library

Contains electrical installation symbols used in architectural and construction floor plans.

The CP-Symbols Electrical – Floor Plans library includes the following categories:

  • Architectural and topographic plans (sockets, switches, push-buttons, labels, various – e.g., amplifiers, antenna heads)
  • Lighting (lamps, fixtures, emergency lighting, connection points, light types, various – e.g., radiation field indicators)
  • Power generation and conversion (power plants, generators, and others)
  • Industrial automation and measurement (meters, recorders, various)
  • Fire protection systems (sensors, extinguishing devices, control panels, alarms, various – incl. junction boxes, deprecated symbols)

Contains symbols used in various types of electrical, low-voltage, and telecommunication diagrams.

The CP-Symbols Electrical – Diagrams library includes:

  • Switching, control, and protection devices (contacts, connectors, switches, contactors, disconnectors, push-buttons, relays, selectors, fuses, various – including deprecated)
  • Lighting (lamps, emergency lighting, various)

The Diagrams & Block Schematics Library

Contains symbols for block diagrams across many disciplines.

The CP-Symbols Electrical – Block Diagrams library includes:

  • Algorithms (basic symbols, loops, data processing, I/O devices, data and memory, relationships, extras)
  • Functional diagrams (symbols – e.g., operations, start steps, commands; signal components – e.g., on/off, time functions)
  • Computer networks (e.g., scanners, sockets, computer terminals; network locations, servers, rack-mounted servers, others – fax, mobile phones)
  • BPMN – Business Process Modeling Notation (events, gateways, activities, markers, task types, data)

General Functions in CP-Symbols Electrical:

  • Lines (wires): Allows drawing of single-line wires and schematic lines
  • Frames and title blocks: Library of standard drawing frames and title blocks
  • Attributes and descriptions: Edit values of one or more symbol attributes
  • Bill of materials: Generate BOMs from elements used in the drawing
